Synopsis

FLYING FORESKIN and an impromptu crucifixion in a mango tree launch two country-singing teens, Beau and Annie, on an island-hopping romp across the Philippines.

Hard times set them to scamming cockfights with their overweight transgender rooster while Annie’s jacked, tricycle-racing boyfriend and his "Midnight Rocket" keep them one step ahead of the police and their sadistic, poultry-obsessed stepfather.

Meanwhile the cavalry is on the way in the guise of their real dad, an alcoholic cowboy from Texas with a love of karaoke. But the kids' luck runs out when Beau risks all by entering their  lovable battle cock in the Slasher Derby Championships.

To be shot on location in real sunlight, this is not a film for hankie whiners .

Story Analyst CC187

"King of the Feather Wars is a charming, slightly absurdist comedy with a charismatic protagonist and several exciting action set-pieces. The Filipino cockfighting scene is a deep well to draw from, and this story succeeds in being hilarious and ultimately heartfelt.

“The story is engaging, vibrant, and full of life. The themes of class and coming of age are rendered poignantly, and the story has a lot of fun learning from classic literature and borrowing some content from great authors like Mark Twain.”

King of the Feather Wars

An inadvertent flying foreskin and a near crucifixion in a mango tree launch two country-singing teens, Beau and Annie, on an island-hopping romp across the Philippines.

Hard times set them to scamming cockfights with a lovable overweight rooster while Annie’s jacked, tricycle-racing boyfriend and his "Midnight Rocket" keep them one step ahead of the police and their homophobic stepfather.

But their luck runs out when Beau risks all at the Slasher Derby Championships. Shot on location in full sunlight, this is not a film for whiners, weepers, or weak-bladdered candy suckers.
